Playing catch up again with the blog but should be back to normal from now on...
Two account bets for us on Saturday resulting in a profitable day.
We kicked off with Ishbelle, 3pt win @ 15/8.
She was said to have come on a ton for her debut outing both mentally and physically and a big run was expected.
There were quite a few runners in opposition that we knew nothing about so kept the staking sensible; possibly too sensible in hindsight!
She pretty much led from the stalls and went on to draw away to win easily by 3 and a half lengths. She was still fairly green and will come on further for this win.
We also had a speculative bet with Jira, 2pt win @ 16/1.
A frustrating horse who shows plenty at home but has failed to show that homework on the track so far in her career.
She was fitted with the headgear in the hope that she might finally click. Because of this and the fact there were only seven runners we played win only.
After missing the break she showed plenty of speed and was in the lead with half a mile to go, from where she weakened. Connections thing she may have a slight back injury which also seems the case with Friday's bet Hawkeyethenoo. Very strange.
We went straight from Newbury to Ireland for the racing on Sunday.
Great racing but not a day for betting with the rain that fell. The track became very sticky and the horses were very drawn out from last to first.
A great atmosphere though and a thoroughly enjoyable day.
No bet today but we have a couple of decent bets lined up for later in the week.
Hopefully the weather will sort itself out and Summer will return as certain parts of the UK have been wet while others have been pretty much bone dry.
Thanks for reading

Hope you had a good time over in Ireland apart from the racing. Heard it wasn't the best conditions - why racing bets are a different game in the US.
