Friday catchup

Its been a busy couple of days for one reason or another so we are running a bit behind with the blog.

Two account bets yesterday with no luck.

First up was Avertor, 3pt win @ 3/1.
Rogers yard are now running into some fantastic form, which is good for us in the longer term. This one was expected to improve for a period away from the track and the drop back in trip.
He travelled well enough throughout the race but the drop back in trip didn't look to be in his favour as he struggled to find a turn of foot inside the final furlong and could only manage 3rd.

We also backed the disappointing Hawkeyethenoo, 3pt win @ 9/4.
A slight drop in class for this one, after running a great race in Ireland last time out he was fancied to land this decent prize.
There was trouble in the stalls as he started to get upset and that in turn upset the runner in the stall next to him.
That can't really be used as an excuse though as he never travelled throughout the race and finished well down the field. Not a great run, even though he was on the wrong side of the track.

Two account bets today, including one that could cause a real surprise at big odds if things go to plan.

We are off to Ireland straight after Newbury today so the next blog and results page update will be on Monday.

There may be a bet tomorrow but we will be keeping a close eye on the ground.
