More seconds

More frustration today with a second and an unplaced from our two bets.

Our first bet was Jacobs Son, 2pt win @ 9/2.
Coming to hand at home big improvement was expected for this one and it was certainly forthcoming.
He ran a cracking race coming from well off the pace, only just failing to get up on the line by a short head.
A couple of furlongs out he looked to have it all to do, with Frankie looking behind for dangers on the winner but he finished like a train and was ahead one stride after the line.

Our second bet of the day was very disappointing.
Ancient Greece, 2pt win @ 10/1 was fancied to run a big race if he stayed the extra distance.
He travelled well enough until the last half a mile or so when he started to fade and was virtually pulled up approaching the line. A drop back in trip looks likely next time out.

Jacons Son finishing second was out 5th account bet to finish second out of 17 bets this month. Very frustrating.

We have said many times that these spells happen and with a bit of luck these seconds will become winners very soon.

There is a possibility of a bet tomorrow but its more than likely our next bet will be Friday, where we have a plot horse lined up.
