Seconditis!

Nearly but not quite was the order of the day with both our account bets finishing second, in similar style.

Both our bets were George Baker runners, ridden by Matthew Davies.
First up was Aragall, 4pt win @ 11/4.
This ex German horse has been fancied on both his runs to date and was strongly fancied today.
He was dropped in and given quite a bit to do by Matthew. He made quiet a bit of ground with a couple of furlongs to go but was never quite getting there.
The winner, Shabok Hom was given a good ride by Joe Fanning who pinched the race by kicking on with a couple of furlongs to run.

Similar story with our second bet, Romantic Queen, 3pt win @ 5/2.
Dropped in at the back she came through very strongly approaching the final furlong but failed by a length.
She traded 1.16 in running and certainly looked like she would get up but it wasn't to be.
Can't really blame Matthew here as she had a poor draw and needs to be ridden from well off the pace. These things happen and our luck will turn around soon.

We have now had 4 of our 9 account bets finishing second so far this month.
2 have been 3rd, 2 unplaced and one winner.
