Good start to York, just!

A good day today but we were made to sweat for it.

We had two account bets.
First up was Summerinthecity, 3pt win @ 5/2 (returned 11/4.)
Thought to still be well handicapped he travelled nicely approaching two furlongs out and traded quite short in running when he hit the front. He was soon joined by the impressive winner, Kaptain Kirkup though and faded once passed. Maybe a drop back in trip will do the trip next time out. We won't give up on him just yet.

Our second account bet was Aviate, 3pt win @ 9/4. (returned 11/4.)
There was a very good word for this filly and we mentioned in our message that the 20/1 for the Oaks would crash if she won as expected.
She was working out of her skin at home and for the majority of the race it looked like we would be on another unlucky loser as she was trapped behind a wall of horses travelling nicely. However, she got a nice split on the rails but still looked to have it all to do. She proved what a good horse she is though and got up in the final strides. Revenge for Twentynineblack from Saturday already!
Aviate is now around 6/1 for the Oaks and that still looks fair value. She is 3 or 4 lengths better than this as she was denied a clear run a couple of times and the way she finished showed stamina won't be a problem.

More good racing tomorrow and we are expecting at least one account bet.

We have over a dozen horses we are waiting for who are expected to be out in the next fortnight. It promises to be a busy but fruitful period is all goes to plan!
