Good prices, good runs

Good stuff yesterday and today with some good runs and a bit unlucky not to have a big priced winner.

On Friday we had 2 account bets.
Our first was Breedj, 2pt e/w @ 5/1. We had been looking forward to her reappearance as she had come on a ton for her first run.
The plan was to bang her out in front and try to make every post a winning one but that was a short lived plan when she missed the break. She ran on well though to get second, really getting the hang of things towards the end of the race.
If she had won the plan was to go straight to Royal Ascot and that may well still be the plan but in time she will be better over a slightly increased distance.

We also backed Murara, 3pt win @ 11/4 up at Hamilton.
Thought to have a lot of improvement in him stepping back up to 6 furlongs he was disappointing. No real excuses as the first 3 home pulled a long way clear and we weren't in with much of a chance of winning from halfway.

Today we had 3 account bets, all at decent prices.
First up was Petara Bay, 1pt e/w @ 22/1.
This runner had been off the track for almost two years but the race has been a long term target all season as he goes well fresh.
He ran a great race, despite hitting a bit of a flat spot 4 furlongs out and stayed on well inside the last 2 furlongs to finish 3rd, beaten about a length and a half. A great run at a big price.

Then we had Sunday City, 1pt e/w @ 16/1.
Thought to be well handicapped after badly needing his first run of the season but he went lame unfortunately. He hade a mistake at the 6th and was pulled up shortly after that.
Thats 4 account bets to go lame in the last month but its always a possibility on this hard ground we have currently.

Finally we finished the day in style with Captain Cool, 1pt e/w @ 6/1.
Another runner thought to be well handicapped after 2 false runs where he had to front run. The plan here was to drop him in off a fast pace and come through inside the final furlong.
The race went perfectly to plan as he stayed on well inside the final furlong to win by 2 lengths.
A nice way to finish the day.

Unusually we have had 5 bets in the last 2 days but the next few days look to be a bit quieter.
We have a maximum bet planned but we need some ease in the ground before this one will run. Its a very special horse and we will be hoping for a nice price first time out.
